I was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia on February, 22, 1732. My father died when I was 11 and growing up I had to watch over my half-brother Lawrence. Later Lawrence married Anne Fairfax who taught most of what I knew about colonial culture growing up. Later in my life I joined the Virginia Militia and became a Major ranking. The French - Indian war started after our troops raided and captured French for not giving up claimed Britain land. After fighting in the battle I was later the leader of the continental army against the British. Even having little experience in managing large armies, I was a capable leader during the war. During the war I liked to send love letters back and forth to Betsy Ross sometimes.
